The first amount of 235 million euro of the one billion provided by the Government for the development of natural gas distribution networks can be accessed from August 17, the Ministry of European Funds (MFE) announced.

“The Ministry of European Funds, through the Managing Authority for the Large Infrastructure Operational Program, launched today in public consultation the applicant’s guide ‘Development of intelligent natural gas distribution networks in order to increase the level of flexibility, safety, efficiency in operation and integration of transport, distribution and final consumption activities’. The call, worth 235 million euro, scheduled to be launched on August 17, allows the development of the natural gas network from this programming period, and the process will continue in the next financial period 2021-2027 up to a total amount of 1 billion euro,” it is shown in a release of MFE, according to Agerpres.

According to the quoted source, the condition for accessing the funds is that the mayoralties, alone or in association with several local public authorities, ensure the connection to the gas network of at least 1,000 households for each project and modernize the existing infrastructure where it exists.

Intercommunity Development Associations whose object of activity is the public utility service for natural gas supply of the population are also eligible.
