New Kopel Car Import, part of SIXT Group Romania, has signed a contract with Oradea City Hall for the supply of 30 electric buses of 12 metres, 7 slow charging stations and 2 fast charging stations.

This is the latest in a series of other high-calibre tenders won by New Kopel Car Import such as Bacău (48 12 m electric buses, 48 slow-charging and 16 fast-charging stations), Constanța (20 buses), Buzău (9 buses) and, in a national first, an electric bus for Cluj Airport, specially designed for airport services to transfer passengers between terminals and aircraft.

The 30 buses have a delivery time of 8 months and are BYD K9UD model, 12m in size, with a fully lowered floor and a capacity of 70 passengers (32 of them seated). They are equipped with air-conditioning/heating, passenger information and counting systems as well as video surveillance and vehicle management equipment.

The seating layout provides reserved seating for people with special needs, and each bus has a platform at the middle door for easy access. Buses will be equipped with equipment for passenger information (audio-visual), passenger counting and video surveillance.

BYD K9UD buses have a high transport autonomy, in real traffic conditions specific to Oradea (summer / winter, full load) and benefit from a 4 years / 280.000 km warranty. The traction battery system, with a capacity of 383 kWh, has an 8-year warranty.
