Minister for Energy, Razvan Nicolescu said Tuesday that he does not like exceptions, referring to the possibility raised by Finance Minister on an exemption for oil wells at the Black Sea at paying the tax on the pole – special construction tax (SCT). He called for a reduction applied to all firms.

“I would preffer not to comment on statements made by colleagues in the Cabinet. Personally I do not like exceptions. The tax should decrease for everyone from 1.5 to 1%,” said Nicolescu at the “Mediafax Talks about Energy” conference.

Minister of Finance Ioana-Maria Petrescu announced several days ago that oil wells in the Black Sea will be exempt from paying the special constructions tax of 1.5% of ivestments.

Prime Minister Victor said earlier this month that the tax will be reduced from 1.5% to 1% for all kinds of special constructions, starting from 2015.
