Energy production from wind reached, Friday, a historic peak – 2,400 MWh, at about 3,000 MW installed capacity. Wind turbines exceeded in energy production power plants, Hidroelectrica and Nuclearelectrica.
Exports were also over 1,200 MWh, all day, meaning half of renewable energy produced was exported, according to economica.net.
Friday, at 12.00, wind energy production reached 2,452 MWh, more than coal-fired energy – 2.409 MWh, over the one made from water – over 1,470 MWh and more than nuclear power – 1,424 MWh, according to Transelectrica.
It is a record of production for wind energy which, if the weather is favorable, can cover over 30% of national consumption of 7,500 MWh, on average. Romania has 3,000 MW installed in wind turbines.
