The net income of the state company Transgaz in the first half rose by 9% at 321.5 million lei (72.4 million euros), while reducing costs by 7%, while revenues have remained relatively stable, with a fall of nearly 1%, according to the national gas transportation system operator’s quarterly report. In the same period last year, the company had a net profit of 294.36 million lei.

Th gross profit of the national gas pipeline network operator was higher by 8% at 387.6 million lei, shows the unaudited financial information. Total revenues were placed at 865.6 million lei, down by about 1%, while expenses were reduced by 7% to 478 million lei.

Revenues from the domestic transport decreased by 7.6% at 660.2 million lei, while those of international transport rose by 19% at 158.8 million lei. The company also increased its debt by 11.6%, from 1.4 billion lei to 1.56 billion lei. Employee expenses decreased slightly, from about 175 million lei to 173.3 million lei.
