100 buyers of electric cars will receive RON 20,000 worth ecotickets, while those of hybrid cars will benefit from a reduction of 5,000 lei of the aquisition price, according to an ordinance approved on Wednesday by the Government. The Ordinance amends GEO no. 9/2013 on environmental stamp.

Financing, by means of ecotickets, is granted from the Environment Fund. Although it is not yet determined what funds will be allocated, Government sources told energynomics.ro that 100 ecotickets for electric cars will be available, the same amount allocated through the 2013 program.

According to the law, the ecoticket value shall be increased from 12,000 lei to 20,000 lei, in the benefit of the individuals, legal persons, administrative units and public institutions to purchase a pure electric vehicle.

At the same time, it was established the 5,000 lei worth ecoticket for the individuals, legal persons, administrative units and public institutions to purchase a new electric hybrid vehicle with external power supply and CO2 emissions less than 50g/km.

In 2013, AFM has conducted a simmilar program in which 100 ecotichete were allocated for purchasing electric cars. The only applicant who has benefited from the 12,000 lei subsidy to buy a car of this type was Moineşti city, in Bacau County. In 2014 not subsidy program was conducted.
