Gazprom signed a memorandum of agreement with the Italian group Edison SpA and the greek company DEPA, for the supply with Russian gas, of the Southern Europe via the Black Sea, writes Reuters.
Specifically, the parties propose the formation of a gas supply route from Russia to reach the Black Sea and Greece and then Italy.
The signatory parties intend to take advantage of the works already conducted by Edison SpA and DEPA, inside the project Poseidon ITGI (Turkey-Greece-Italy Interconnector)
“The development of the intra-European gas transportation capacities is an important component of improving the security of gas supplies, including those from Russia, to consumers across Europe,” said the General Manager of Gazprom, Alexei Miller.
The agreement was signed following a meeting between Alexei Miller and the Italian Minister for Economic Development, Federica Guidi.
