Following inspections at gas stations, the Bulgarian authorities have prevented the distribution of 29,000 liters of low quality fuel, also discovering devices that interfere with the data which oil companies must send to the Bulgarian Fiscal Authority, announced the Ministry of Interior from Sofia, writes Novinite.

Inspections were conducted in Sofia and 15 other cities. Additional gas stations that distribute low quality fuels were closed.

In this context, the competition authority in Bulgaria (CPC) launched a procedure to establish the criminal offenses relating to the abuse of dominant position and cartel agreements regarding sales in the fuel market, writes Agerpres.

CPC has established that Shell Bulgaria RAD, Rompetrol Bulgaria EAD, Eco Bulgaria OOD, OMV Bulgaria OOD, Petrol AD, NIS Petrol EOOD and Lukoil Bulgaria EOOD set prices for distribution to the final consumer (retail) through agreements with an anti-competitive substrate.
