Clients of a private energy provider, Romenergy Industry, which are situated in the region served by Electrica Distribuție Transilvania Nord, will enter the portfolio of Electrica Furnizare as a supplier of last resort, shows information issued by ANRE. The customers are located in Bihor, Satu Mare, Cluj, Sălaj, Baia Mare and Bistrița Năsăud.

Along with retrieving the clients in its portfolio, Electrica has the duty to inform them about: the date and reason of the takeover, the method of closure/performance of the supply contract concluded with the suppliers of last resort, the right of the end customers to conclude electricity supply contracts with a competitive supplier, the supply conditions, the deadlines applicable to the transition to a competitive supplier.

The document issued by the regulator refers to the “takeover by the supplier of last resort Electrica S.A., as of 02.03.2016, of the places of consumption from the distribution area of Electrica Distribuție Transilvania Nord S.A. FDEE concessionaire – Oradea Branch, on 01.03.2016, in the portofolio of S.C. Romenergy Industry S.R.L.”.

The distribution branch unilaterally terminated the distribution contract with Romenergy Industry because the supplier accumulated debt by nonpaying the distribution to Electrica distribution branch. According to the Regulation of supply, from the date of termination of a distribution agreement, the agreement for electricity supply is also terminated for the places of consumption.

Romenergy Industry representatives say they will waive the extension of the license for electricity supply. The license expires in May. According to the latest data from ANRE, Romenergy Industry had a 1.25% share of the electricity market on the track of consumers who have exercised their eligibility. In 2014, the company achieved a turnover of 251 million lei and a three million lei profit.
