Good morning,

Thank you very much for the invitation! Is an honor and a privilege to be here with you, alongside with the major players in the energy market. I would like to propose you an more pragmatic approach, namely to identify Romania’s specific interests on each energy subsector, and our strengths, and to outline on each of these how can we promote our respective interests at regional level. If we only focus on the energy strategy of Romania, I hope that by the middle or by the end of September – as assumed – this document to come and tell us not necessarily we have to do on each project, but exactly where we are, what we stand at the macro level and what we intend to do in the future.

As you well know, energy security and security of supply are the most important things we need to address. Therefore, there is a weighted average where each area has its role. I hope that the energy strategy will tell us exactly where we stand, with figures on each sector. In the next period, some things will expire, from a technological point of view, and that is why we do ask ourselves what will be put in place. I think this is the kind of whole-chain analysis that the energy strategy will contribute with. From my point of view, I think, and I’ve said it repeatedly, although we are competitors in the various sectors that we represent, we will be much stronger if we keep together in respect with the outside world, be it Brussels, or simply our neighbors.

I understand, of course, that we are competitors in some areas, each sector can be different and so on, but as we stay close near each other, as we focus our thoughts and actions, the more unified voice we will have and the more we work together, the more will will be able to be helpful for the entire Romanian energy sector, much more, however, than if each of us would go on his own account to find and reach his targets abroad.
