The Hungarian oil group MOL, through Panfora Oil and Gas, starts exploring in two oil blocks in western Romania, Voivozi and Adea, and concludes the works at Curtici, announces News.ro.
“At perimeter EX-6 Curtici we are in the first phase, the exploration. We collaborate with Prospectiuni, the most important company of geo-physical studies in Romania, for the acquisition of geological data in 3D. For the other two blocks – EX-1 Voivozi and EX-5 Adea we are underway to implement the first steps to start the exploration phase in these perimeters”, declared for News.ro the MOL representatives.
The three blocks were awarded following a tender organized by the NAMR in 2010, and the concession agreements were ratified by the government late last year.
Representatives of the group state that MOL has decided to participate in tenders for these three blocks to harness the experience already gained in the Pannonian basin, in the blocks in which MOL operates in Hungary.
“In Romania, the petroleum blocks exploration phase is slowed, as recently publicly the President of NAMR also stated ” said MOL officials.
