Sales of gasoline and diesel increased by 5.6% in the first half of this year compared with the same period last year in Romania, while those of Petrom’s exceeded this average, said Mariana Gheorghe, CEO of OMV Petrom, quoted by Agerpres.

“In the marketing segment have have reistered a good progress, especially in the retail sector where the market grew by 5.6% on petrol and diesel in the first half, compared with the same quarter of the previous year, and our sales have exceeded this average, increasing by 6.1%,” Gheorghe said.

The increases are determined by the low prices of fuel, but also by the higher consumption in Romania.

“We can not say the same thing that happened on the commercial sales where they were below the previous year by about 8%.”

She explained that the closure Petrobrazi for a month resulted in servicing the stocks to gas stations, some commercial customers heading to other refineries.

”Here we see the base effect, namely that in the same period of last year we had exceptional sales because two competing refiners have stopped then,” said she.
