The Ministry of Energy proposes to allocate 12,77 million lei (almost 2,84 million euros) from the social security budget for the 1.000 employees of Complexul Energetic Oltenia, which will be dismissed in 2017, according to a draft Government decision, posted on the ministry’s website. For the period 2017-2020, the total amount will be about 15 million euros (66,57 million lei or about 14,8 million euros at the current exchange rate of 4,5 lei per euro).
“This draft normative act proposes the approval of the allocation of the amount of 12.774 thousand lei from the unemployment insurance budget for the year 2017 that will be allocated for the payment of the monthly income for completion for 1.000 persons dismissed in 2017 from Complexul Energetic Oltenia company”, according to the substantiation note.
Subsequently, for 2018, the required amount will be 28,6 million lei, for 2019 – 20,5 million lei, and for 2020 – 4,7 million lei.
Complex Energetic Oltenia (CEO) wants to lay off a total of 1.740 employees between 2017 and 2018, out of which 1.000 employees this year, only half compared to the initial plans, says the second revision of the restructuring, reorganization and efficiency Plan.
