Next few days will see debates within the rulling coalition of Romania, formed by PSD and ALDE, and the newly-appointed government will be made public most likely on Monday, according to PSD chairman Liviu Dragnea. Thus, PSD is currently discussing four options for the prime minister, and Monday, June 26, a single name will be proposed for multi-party consultations.

On Wednesday, June 21, the no-confidence (censure) motion against the Grindeanu government was passed by Parliament with 241 votes in favor and 10 against, which was officially deposed.
About 233 favorable votes were needed to adopt the motion. About 248 MPs voted Wednesday on the motion filed by PSD and ALDE against Prime Minister Sorin Grindeanu, thus meeting the minimum quorum for the procedure to be valid. Absent or not voting were 12 PSD MPs and two from minorities.

Only PSD, ALDE and national minority MPs voted on the motion. PNL and USR sat in plenary but did not vote, while senators and deputies of UDMR and PMP were not even present, according to news.ro.
ALDE MP Remus Borza said Wednesday in Parliament that he voted against the no-confidence motion, given that every vote should belong to the parliament and not be vitiated or diverted by a party. He stated that he would expect to be excluded from the ALDE following his vote, and the party’s president, Calin Popescu Tariceanu, later confirmed his exclusion.
