The Federation of Associations of Energy Utility Companies ACUE announces in a press release that the final gas price for the population raised by an average of approximately 5.6%, starting with January 10th. “As a result of the increase of the cost of gas purchases paid by suppliers to the natural gas producers, ANRE decided, according to the methodology in force, to raise the final gas price for the population raised by an average of approximately 5.6%”, says ACUE.
The Federation with 30 members – among which many important groups from the energy sector such as E.ON România, ENGIE România, ENEL România, CEZ România, C.N.T.E.E. Transelectrica SA, Societatea Energetică Electrica SA, and WIEE – recalls that, starting with April 1 2017, the price with which suppliers buy gas from domestic producers is no longer established by the authorities, being the result of market demand and supply evolution. “ANRE analyzes periodically the evolution of the price of gas purchased by suppliers, having the obligation to adjust the transfer value to household consumers, according to the legislation in force.”
ACUE underlined that the price adjustment was caused solely by the increase in gas purchase costs from domestic production, the distribution tariff and the supply margin remaining unchanged.
