The Plenary of the Chamber of Deputies decided on Wednesday to resend the Offshore Law to the specialized committees, following the request of UDMR MP Kelemen Hunor, as well as the opposition of the main coalition partner ALDE.
Thus, the PSD agreed that the offshore law would be returned to the committees because there was no majority granted for the vote, PSD leader Liviu Dragnea said, given that the ALDE accused the Social Democrats of introducing several changes with no consultation.
“I do not want to make any more comments, PSD will continue to support its position,” added Liviu Dragnea.

“There are calculations, analyzes and simulations made by several specialists, including from the Ministry of Finance. For a week or so, I think it is good that all discussions in the Committees should be very transparent and broadcasted for the general public, so that every Romanian knows what is being discussed and each amendment to this law that has effects: positive or negative. Each parliamentary group had a position that it supported on this law. The debates will start again in the committee,” Dragnea said.
Asked whether the situation was generated by the lack of communication or because of the PSD amendments to the law, Dragnea claimed he did not know.
“I have no idea, that is why I am curious as well as you which are the arguments that will be presented in public and supported next week”, the PSD leader said.
