The Board of Directors of Romgaz, one of the two largest gas producers in Romania, has appointed Adrian Volintiru as General Manager for a four-year term. Volintiru occupied the position of interim general manager of the company in June 2018, when he replaced also interim Corin Cindrea.
In September, Adrian Volintiru presented Romgaz’s strategic priorities; among them strengthening the position of the company on the energy supply markets, with the focal point on completion of the investment at the new Iernut plant. The company also announced that it is considering the opportunity to build a greenfield gas powered group at Mintia, but Volintiru also talked about developing the business by entering new markets, such as renewable energy and fertilizer production.
Between May 2014 and February 2015, Adrian Volintiru was General Manager at Upetrom 1 Mai Ploieşti, and from November 2013 to March 2014 he was Secretary of State at the Ministry of Economy. Previously, Volintiru held leading positions within several large organizations, including Poşta Română, Vulcan SA and Rompetrol.
