Romania got an infringement, voted on March 7, for the incorrect application of the Gas Directive. The deadline for the Romanian authorities to respond to the delay is 25 May. „We hope for a two-month delay. We have just two weeks, or less than 20 days,” says Zoltan Nagy-Bege, Vice President of ANRE.
In his opinion, the Romanian Government has given quite a significant signal by giving up the gas price limit for the non-household, which is the most sensitive point in the document received from the Commission on the late infringement of the Gas Directive. And, surely, from now on, the talks will start, possibly negotiations with the European Commission, which will be finalized by a re-liberalization calendar, says Bege, quoted by investenergy.ro.
