After obtaining the permits, Lukoil, the third investor interested in the Romanian Black Sea gas, will start drilling this autumn, and works will be carried out by a platform supplied by the Italian company Saipem.
Saipem, specializing in offshore drilling, announced that it won two contracts, worth a total of USD 160 million, for drilling, one in Abu Dhabi and another one in the Black Sea, without indicating clients from which the contracts were received, according to e-nergia.ro.
According to the company’s press release, drilling in the Black Sea is expected to start in the last quarter of the year, and will be done with a semisubmersible platform, Scarabeo 9.
