Energy investments have accelerated and new premises for new investments have been created, Energy Minister Anton Anton said, at a press conference.

“We managed to provoke an investment dynamics that the energy system has not known in the past 10 years,” he said, according to financialintelligence.ro.

Anton denied, however, that he had been contacted by Exxon to negotiate on the retreat from the Neptun Deep project.

Anton says he wants to “conclude negotiations” with Exxon, “is a matter for which ALDE (the ruling coalition member) insists”, according to e-nergia.ro

Anton has provided some examples of successful investments, such as the Romgaz plant in Iernut – the largest investment in progress – 75% completed or the investment in Paroseni, the first center of the CE Hunedoara in accordance with environmental legislation. The minister also talked about the 200 MW combined cycle and high-efficiency cogeneration group that will be built at the Craiova II thermal power plant, recalling also the modernization works of Hidroelectrica.
