The share of “green” cars (electric and hybrid) registered in Romania continues to grow, reaching a market share of 3.5% in the first six months of 2019 (last year they had a share of only 2, 4%), according to the latest statistics published by the Association of Automobile Manufacturers and Importers (APIA) and E.ON.
In June, green cars registered a significant market share increase (4%), which makes this category, at the first half of the year, at a rate of 3.6%, comparable to that of other countries in Europe.
At the end of 2018, according to APIA, the growth registered in the electric car segment (fully electric and plug-in) was a significant one, + 92.0% (987 units in 2018 compared to only 514 units in 2017, ie about 2 more times compared to 2017), while for hybrids, which also have a larger volume (3,585 units in 2018, compared to 2,244 units in 2017), there is an increase of + 59.8%.
