Romania may be among the beneficiaries of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) shipping from the United States which will arrive in November in Poland, where the goods will be regasified, and thereafter passed to Ukraine. The claims belong to an American trader with extensive operations in the neighboring country, also supported by the Washington administration, through the governmental institution Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), according to profit.ro.

US-based gas trading company Energy Resources of Ukraine (ERU), part of ERU Corporation, recently signed an agreement with Poland’s state oil giant, PGNiG. Thus, the Poles bought a certain volume, unspecified, of liquefied natural gas from the US, which they will resell to ERU. From a physical point of view, the LNG will arrive in November at the Polish terminal in the port of Świnoujście. There, the cargo will be regasified, after which it will be introduced, until the end of the year, in the Ukrainian transport system through the Hermanowice interconnection point.
