By the end of the year, Transelectrica has a chance to exit the provisory management. Finally, the Ministry of Economy decided that the company should be run by supervisors and members of the board of directors with four-year mandates, in accordance with the provisions of GEO 109 regarding the corporate governance of public enterprises.
For many years, at the management of the transmission system operator, a company of national and strategic interest, were appointed several series of members of the board of directors and provisional supervisors, according to investenergy.ro.
The decision of the ministry comes shortly after Transelectrica was involved in a scandal: it was discovered that the former President of the Directorate of Transelectrica, Marius Dănuţ Caraşol, who was dismissed from office, falsified his CV, not finalizing the faculty. The current leadership has filed a criminal complaint against Carașol and decided to join as civil part in the investigation of the General Prosecutor’s Office.
