A delegation from the European Commission will come to Romania at the beginning of December to discuss with the Bucharest authorities on the liberalization of the natural gas and electricity markets, Zoltan Nagy-Bege, vice-president of the National Regulatory Authority, said on Tuesday.
“We have already sent the European Commission an information that there are inconsistencies between GEO 114/2018 and the new European regulations. Ideally, we would have to obtain an agreement for the proposed liberalization calendar with their agreement and to implement that one year deregulation plan, to have feedback from them that is ok what we are doing. We insisted on our last visit to Brussels and a European Commission delegation will come in early December to discuss both the electricity and the gas side,” said Bege, according to Agerpres.
The new liberalization calendar provides for the total deregulation of the gas market until April 1, 2021 and that of electricity on July 1, 2021.
