The Autonomous Administration of Thermal Energy Distribution and Transport (RADET) could go bankrupt, and the Bucharest’s City Hall should be prepared for this situation, said the Minister of Economy, Energy and Business, Virgil Popescu, on taking office on Wednesday.

“Tomorrow we will have a meeting on this subject and I want the City Hall to be very much aware that the bankruptcy of RADET may be declared on Monday. Elcen is ready to deliver thermal energy, but we must have the City Hall ready to find the solution on who to buy that heat agent, the City Hall directly … The City Hall to make sure that all the subsidy to Elcen is paid,” said the minister, according to Agerpres.

He was optimistic that a solution would be found. “I hope we will not declare the bankruptcy of RADET, but the City Hall must be prepared for this eventuality,” added Popescu.
