More and more Europeans – respectively almost half of the population of ten European countries – feel they have little or no protection from the effects of climate change, a representative survey by E.ON and Kantar EMNID shows.
Among the most worried Europeans are the Romanians, 56% of those surveyed declaring themselves helpless in terms of climate change. We are thus ranked second, after the Italians, who share this concern in a ratio of 58%.
The poll confirms the urgent need for action by politicians who meet, between December 2 and 19, at the UN Climate Summit in Madrid. In the end, only 22% of Europeans think they are well or very well protected as a result of actions to combat the effects of climate change.
