Bulgaria, Hungary, Croatia and Romania last year had the lowest effective individual consumption (AIC) per capita expressed in standard purchasing power parity (PPS), according to data released Thursday by the European Statistical Office (Eurostat).
In 2018, in the European Union the actual individual consumption (AIC) per capita expressed in the PPS ranged from 56% of the EU average for Bulgaria, 64% for Croatia and Hungary, 69% for Latvia and 71% for Romania, up to 120% in the case of Germany and 134% in the case of Luxembourg, according to Agerpres.
However, a clear increase is observed for Romania (71% of the EU average in 2018 compared to 65% in 2016 and 56% in 2014), Slovakia (73% of the EU average in 2018 compared to 68% in 2016) and Lithuania (89% of the EU average in 2018 compared to 85% in 2016).
Regarding the Gross Domestic Product per capita expressed in the standard purchasing power parity (PPS) in 2018, the indicator ranged from 51% of the EU average for Bulgaria, 63% for Croatia and 65% for Romania, up to 261% of the EU average in Luxembourg.
