The Oltenia Energy Complex (CEO) has planned for this year investments of 590 million lei (about 123 million euro), from its own sources, and will start a decarbonisation program of almost 1 billion euro, which will last until 2025, said the company’s general manager, Sorin Boza, who also stressed that the CEO has no problems with coal deposits.
“For 2020, the investment program amounts to 590 million lei, from our own sources. And besides this, we will start a decarbonisation program, according to the European Commission’s decision. It is a program that will be implemented by 2025 and which, at a first estimate will reach EUR 1 billion. This decarbonisation program is a program decided by the European Commission in order to reduce CO2 emissions. It will be supported by three sources of financing, from the Modernization Fund, from the National Investment Plan and some of own sources,” said Sorin Boza, according to News.ro.
The representative of the energy producer says that by 2025, the CEO intends to solve the problem of carbon dioxide emissions. “Today, the CEO complies with all the environmental rules imposed by the European Union,” he added.
