The liberalization of the gas price from July 1 will not bring new price increases, says the Minister of Economy and Energy (MEEMA), Virgil Popescu.
Natural gas bills will not rise since July 1, and there are no reasons for rising electricity prices this year, said Popescu, according to Agerpres.
“I noticed that the gas producers said that no price increase was justified, I also noticed the reaction of a supply and distribution operator who said that the offer was misunderstood and that there would be no price surge, I said that there would be no price increases to gas from July 1. I think we will have no increase from July 1 of the price of natural gas. I mean in bills. I do not think that the tariffs that are regulated by the distribution will increase, given that the distribution tariff was not decreased by 2%, the 2% tax was eliminated, let’s not forget. Nor do I see reasons for electricity to increase the price,” said Popescu.
