The leu depreciated on Monday with 0.74 subunits against the euro (0.15%), the European currency reaching a new historical high, as the rate displayed by the National Bank of Romania (BNR) is 4.8184 lei/ euro.
The NBR quoted euro on Friday at 4.8110 lei.
In the interbank market, the national currency was traded between 4.7984 and 4.8536 lei for one euro, according to Agerpres.
On the other hand, the leu gained ground in front of the US dollar, which reached 4.2182 lei, decreasing by 3.52 subunits (-0.83%), compared to the exchange rate on Friday, respectively 4.2534 lei/dollar.
The national currency depreciated against the Swiss franc, with 1.21 subunits (+ 0.26%). Thus, the quotation of the franc reached 4.5506 lei, compared with 4.5385 lei/ CHF on Friday.
