Romania is ready with resources and fiscal instruments to meet any challenge, and at this moment is important the increase of purchasing power, writes the designated PM Florin Cîţu on his Facebook page.
“At this moment it is very important to increase the purchasing power of Romanians. The rate of inflation continues to decrease = the purchasing power of Romanians increases. Romania is no longer the country with the highest inflation in the EU. Interest and prices decrease because we are more prepared. We are prepared with fiscal resources and tools to meet any challenge,” says Florin Cîţu, according to Agerpres.
According to him, in order to mitigate the economic effects of Covid – 19 fiscal measures must be taken, and for maximum impact it is necessary to coordinate fiscal and monetary policies.
“I have already told you that, as the situation looks like, the measures must be fiscal in nature. But in order to have maximum impact, it is necessary to coordinate fiscal and monetary policies. We have been in constant contact with the governor and we already have working teams with experts from MFP and NBR. For the first time we are facing such a challenge and we have no problems on the financing side. I was cautious, we attracted funding and we have the resources to pay for all the expenses in the budget. Even in the context in which we had to make payments to the Ministry of Health, in addition, of about 620 million lei,” writes Cîţu.
