OMV Petrom has implemented a series of measures to ensure the smooth running of the activities. Christina Verchere, CEO of OMV Petrom: “We are facing an unprecedented global situation, which requires a fast and firm response from people, companies and authorities. We have mobilized our teams and work closely with the authorities to ensure the energy the country needs, while implementing adequate measures for the health of our employees and customers.”
In order to ensure the energy supply, the company activated the Plan for the Continuation of Activity, which provides specific measures to ensure the continuity of the essential operations, taking into account the different stages of the situation generated by the coronavirus. A specially appointed management team monitors the situation daily and works hard to keep track of the impact on critical operations and infrastructure. The activity in the production areas of the Upstream, the refinery and the power plant was organized in such a way as to ensure the continuity of the operations, while implementing the measures imposed by the authorities.
“We have proven experience in crisis management, demonstrated by the successful manner in which we operated during the economic crisis of 2008-2009 and the oil price crisis of 2014-2016. We estimate that our integrated business model, with the Petrobrazi refinery on the value chain of the oil and the Brazi power plant on the value chain of natural gas, will contribute to supporting our financial results,” says the company.
