Two major elements will have to be overcome in the current crisis, namely liquidity, meaning the resource existing in the market, and the prudential approach, said the executive chairman of the Romanian Banks Association (ARB), Florin Dănescu, on Wednesday.
“In this crisis we will have two big elements to overcome, which we have to be very careful about. One is liquidity, meaning the resource existing in the market, the financial resource, that is to be allocated in all areas of the economy to the population, to natural persons, to legal entities, in this difficult context, and second, at the level of banks. It is the prudential approach or the regulations and laws that regulate how banks operate from the perspective of the risks that banks face,” Florin Dănescu told Digi 24 , according to Agerpres.
From the point of view of liquidity, he said, there will be a fight over the resources to be allocated and to counteract the effects of an economic crisis.
“This is exactly what we say, that how we manage this resource today and later is vital. If we hurry with promises and allocate everyone in this state of precipitation and anxiety, resources that should not have been allocated now or to everyone, which includes both those who do not need and those who need it, this means that we misallocate the resources,” said Dănescu.
In other news, Dănescu said that in this short time it was impossible to carry out an impact study of the deferral of the payment of the loan rates.
