Industry business increased by 4.3% in the first two months of 2020, compared to the same period last year, following the results recorded in the extractive and processing industries, according to the data of the National Institute of Statistics (INS), according to Agerpres.
According to the statistics, on the big industrial groups, increases in the turnover were registered in the sectors: the industry of current use goods (+ 10.2%), the industry of durable goods (+ 8.9%), the industry of capital goods (+ 4.2%) and the intermediate goods industry (+ 3.0%). In contrast, the energy industry fell by 4.4%.
Between January and February 2020, the extractive industry increased 18%, while the processing industry registered a jump of 5.1%. The INS data also show that in February the turnover in the industry increased by 2.6% overall, compared to the same month of 2019, due to the growth registered in the manufacturing industry (+3.4%). In contrast, the extractive industry decreased by 20.6%.
