Romania will not be affected, in the short term, by the drastic drop in the price of oil in the United States, given that a lot of oil is consumed from domestic production, wrote on Facebook the Minister of Economy, Energy and Business Environment, Virgil Popescu.
“In the short term, Romania will not be affected by the drastic drop in the price of oil in the United States. At the moment, we are consuming a lot of oil from domestic production, which means that our economy is not yet affected by the oil crisis in the United States,” wrote Virgil Popescu, quoted by Agerpres.
The Minister of Economy also said that this situation is worrying because the global economy will be negatively influenced by the fact that the United States cannot sell oil at a fair price.
“For me, as Minister of Economy, this is a worrying situation because the global economy will be negatively affected by the fact that the US is currently failing to sell oil at a fair price. A fair market price shows us that a economy works optimally,” noted the Economy Minister.
