German Embassy in Bucharest, Federal Ministry of Interior, Construction and Development Territorial Police and the Ministry of Interior of the Land of Baden-Württemberg helped the Romanian Police with 5,000 surgical masks, as well as the Directorate for Combating Organized Crime with numerous IT equipment specific to the field of prevention (including laptops, computers, video cameras, GoPro cameras, multifunction printers, video projectors, equipment for conferences, endoscopic cameras).
On the occasion of the handing over of the equipment, on Wednesday, May 6, 2020, Ambassador Meier-Klodt said: “The Romanian Police is our essential partner in terms of police prevention in crime at European level – a partner who does an exceptional job! Of that I am particularly glad that, just these days, we can practically support this long-term, trust-based cooperation.”
The sponsorship amounts to a total of over 25,000 euro. In addition, other summs are expected for support actions. The equipment will help the Romanian Police in the fight against organized crime, especially a trafficking in human beings, drug-related crime and cybercrime.
