Liberalization of the gas market will make consumers aware and will encourage them to get more involved, compare market prices and better analyze offers to sign the best contracts, while having the right to change their supplier at any time, shows a response from the National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE), according to Agerpres.

From July 1, the Romanian gas market will be completely liberalized. The authorities in Bucharest have assumed this term before the European Commission in order to put an end to an infringement procedure that would have sent our country before the European Court of Justice.

ANRE listed the advantages of liberalization for household consumers, as a result of increased competition in the market. “An important, decisive role, with a significant impact on the degree of development of a functioning competitive market, is the active participation of end customers. The right to choose a supplier is one of the main advantages of the end customer, as he has the possibility to negotiate directly with the suppliers the terms and conditions regarding the natural gas supply,” say the ANRE specialists.
