E.ON has developed in Romania, since 2018 and until now, a number of 74 solar energy production projects for customers from various sectors of the economy. Of these, 29 projects have been completed and another 45 projects are currently in various stages of development.
The company has already installed about 25,000 photovoltaic panels for 58 companies in the best performing industries such as automotive, chemical and petrochemical, food, logistics centers, shopping malls and office buildings, large retailers, industrial manufacturers in various industries. The total nominal power of the turnkey photovoltaic power plants handed over by E.ON is of 6,734 kWp, and their production is of 9,550 MWh per year.
“Together with our customers, we are committed to create a greener and more sustainable energy world. The adoption of our photovoltaic generation solutions by Romanian companies, leaders in their sectors, shows that we are on the right track. Only through the completed projects so far, carbon dioxide emissions will be reduced by over 6 thousand tons per year,” said Cătălin Iordache, General Manager of E.ON Energie Romania.
Thus, for Dedeman, the national leader in the retail of construction materials and interior design, with 100% Romanian capital, E.ON is in the process of completing the installation of 16 photovoltaic plants at the company’s stores that will generate 3,750 MWh annually. The total installed power will be over 3 MWp and will provide approximately 30% of the annual electricity consumption required to operate the stores. The reduction in CO2 emissions is estimated at 1,177 tonnes per year.
For the Bistrita-based company TeraPlast, the largest Romanian manufacturer of construction materials, E.ON recently completed the installation of one of the largest roof-mounted photovoltaic power generation systems in Romania. Through this photovoltaic energy system, which produces 2,420 MWh per year, Teraplast will provide 11% of the necessary electricity from renewable sources and will reduce its long-term CO2 emissions. Roof systems have a maximum rated power of 1,936 kWp DC power and 1,600 kWp AC power. The partnership with Teraplast continues, at the moment two new photovoltaic projects are being implemented, one in Bistrița and another in Băicoi.
Another example is the partnership with the Vâlcea company Don Pedro, the second tissue paper producer in the country, with 100% Romanian capital, for the completion of a photovoltaic energy generation system which will produce a total of 767 MWh per year, representing 25 -30% of the total energy needs of the company.
With the completion of the projects that the company has under development at the moment, the total production of photovoltaic energy will reach 20,000 MWh per year, and CO2 emissions will be reduced by 8,800 tons per year.
