Alstom Foundation has announced the final selection of projects for the 2020 cycle. With a total of 167 projects submitted, Alstom employees who support these projects have once again demonstrated their enthusiasm for philanthropy and for supporting local communities.
The list of selected projects also includes a project in Romania that aims to reduce the risk of severe poverty, that threatens 31% of the total population, due to exclusion, marginalization or discrimination. Called “REinsert – the second chance for the disadvantaged, part of the solution to the labor market crisis”, the project is developed by Ateliere Fără Frontiere, a long-term non-profit association active in Romania. The project provides mentoring and professional support for the insertion among the active population of at least 35 disadvantaged people, every year.
“Thanks to this grant, Ateliere fără Frontiere can continue to provide a transitional job and a way to integrate the most disadvantaged, which are no longer just a problem and a cost to society, but become a valuable resource for a more welcoming society, more inclined towards inclusion,” says Damien Thiery, the representative of the Ateliere Fără Frontiere Association.
Ateliere Fără Frontiere Association is a Romanian non-profit organization, established in 2008, for the social, professional and civic insertion of vulnerable, excluded and marginalized people, part of SOS Group – International action, a global network working to achieve Sustainable Development Goals.
Founded in 2007, the Alstom Foundation supports and funds projects proposed by Alstom employees who team up with local partner NGOs and nonprofits to carry out initiatives to improve living conditions in communities close to Alstom projects around the world.
