Romania imported about 1,500 MW of electricity on Wednesday morning, being, at the same time, the most expensive energy market in the region, according to Transelectrica and OPCOM data, analyzed by Agerpres.
Thus, at 9:50, the national electricity consumption was of 7,785 MW, the production – 6,316 MW, the difference of 1,468 MW representing imports.
The main source of energy production was hydro – 38%, followed by nuclear – 22%, coal – 18%, hydrocarbons – 9%, wind – 6%, photovoltaic – 5%, biomass – 1%.
In fact, Romania is on Wednesday the most expensive energy market in the region, with a price of 41.88 euro per MWh on the spot platform (Day Ahead Market).
For comparison, in Hungary energy with delivery on Wednesday costs 40.68 euro per MWh, and in Slovakia and the Czech Republic – 37.49 euro per MWh.
