The composition of the Strategic Coordination Committee for the implementation of the SNN Units 3 and 4 Project has changed, following a decision of Prime Minister Florin Cîţu published in the Official Gazette.

Thus, Virgil Popescu, Minister of Energy is the chairman of the new Committee and the new members are Alexandru Nazare, Minister of Finance, Presidential Adviser Cosmin Marinescu and Cristian Bădescu, Special Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on energy security issues.

The Strategic Steering Committee was set up in July last year by a decision of the Orban cabinet. Florin Cîțu and the former head of the Prime Minister’s Chancellery, Ionel Dancă – currently a deputy from Vrancea, were part of the initial composition.

The Committee was established at the same time as the Government decided to repeal the Decision on the establishment of the Working Group for the negotiation of the draft Romania-People’s Republic of China Intergovernmental Agreement on Cooperation for the Implementation of the Cernavoda NPP Units 3 and 4 Project.
