The car fleet of the regional transport operator Trans Bus in Buzau will be strengthened by 9 new electric buses in 2021. New Kopel Car Import, part of SIXT GROUP ROMANIA, won the tender for the delivery of 9 electric buses, 3 fast charging stations and 9 slow charging stations.
The investment in electric buses is a result of a program with European financing carried out by the Ministry of European Funds. About 30 million lei will cost the 9 ECO buses and the corresponding load stations, of which 22 million lei are allocated by the European Union.
The electric buses are manufactured by the Chinese giant BYD and have a maximum capacity of 70 seats each, of which 29 are seated. The BYD buses have all the facilities required by European transport rules. The winning model operates successfully in several Western European countries and in the US. The new means of transport, 100% ECO, will run on line 10, the longest route in Buzau. New Kopel Car Import will provide new buses and loading stations by the end of the year.
In 2018, New Kopel Car Import became an importer of BYD electric buses and vehicles for Romania. BYD is the largest producer and seller of electric cars and buses worldwide, with more than 100.000 electric vehicles sold annually. BYD delivered over 40.000 electric buses worldwide with a significant European presence, with production facilities in Hungary and France.
