Romgaz extended by another two weeks the suspension of the notice of termination of the contract concluded with Romelectro and Duro Felguera for the development of the Iernut plant, because changes were made at the level of Duro Felguera’s management and it was requested to resume negotiations in order to identify solutions regarding the completion of the investment objective as soon as possible.
According to a current report submitted by Romgaz to the Bucharest Stock Exchange, the national gas producer informs shareholders and investors that, on May 6, 2021, it extended until May 20, 2021 the suspension of the notice of termination of the works contract that has as object the development of CTE Iernut, through the construction of a 430 MW thermal power plant, with combined cycle with gas turbines.
“The decision to extend the suspension of the notice of termination of the works contract no. 13384/2016 was taken as a result of the letter Duro Felguera SA, registered at SNGN Romgaz SA under no. 14476 / 6.05.2021, by which it is communicated that changes occurred at the level of the management of Duro Felguera SA” and a new meeting for the resumption of negotiations is demanded, ”in order to identify, evaluate and implement a solution to ensure the completion and implementation of the investment objective, as soon as possible,” it is mentioned in the document quoted by Agerpres.
On April 9, Romgaz announced the suspension for 14 days of the contract termination process for the Iernut Thermal Power Plant, and during this period the executor was to present a concrete proposal for the completion and commissioning of the investment objective, and Romgaz to analyze the proposal and formulate an answer.
On April 13, Romgaz’s general manager, Aristotel Jude, told a news conference that Romgaz granted a final period of 14 days to the Romelectro-Duro Felguera association for the completion of the plant, otherwise the gas producer would be ready to carry out on account own this project, in order not to lose the financing from the National Investment Plan (PNI).
