The price of electricity on the spot market of the OPCOM exchange (Day Ahead Market – DAM) had an average of 554.65 lei per MWh in August 2021, a value over three times higher than the price recorded in the same month of last year, respectively of 183.19 lei per MWh, according to the monthly report posted on the stock exchange operator’s website.
The total value of transactions was of 1.042 billion lei, increasing by 203.09% compared to August 2020 (343.9 million lei), according to Agerpres.
On the other hand, the volume of transactions decreased by 0.46%, to 1,844,116 MWh.
The market share of DAM was of 39.3%, down 5%.
About 366 participants were registered on the OPCOM spot market, of which 253 were active.
The Day Ahead Market (DAM) is a component of the wholesale electricity market on which firm hourly transactions are made with electricity delivered on the day following the trading day.
