The Iasi-Ungheni-Chisinau gas pipeline is already interconnected and this means diversifying Moldova’s gas supply routes, which will certainly increase the competitiveness of the gas market, said Constantin Borosan, Secretary of State for Energy, Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development, within the event Regional approach: Chisinau 2021, organized by Energynomics.
“We are also motivated for an effort to complete the electricity interconnection, I mean the high voltage interconnection which is a strategic priority of the country. Moreover, we want to advance on the other energy infrastructure projects, resources mentioned in the development plans of the transmission networks on the banks of the Prut, which also provide access to electricity resources”, said Borosan.
“We are following the plans of the Romanian transport operator and the construction plans of the storage depots in the northeastern part of Romania and we are interested in having access to this infrastructure, which will strengthen the country’s energy security. I would like to express my gratitude to the Government of Romania, the Romanian people for their continuous, unconditional support in everything that means the energy consolidation of the country. I would like to mention here the projects aimed at increasing energy efficiency in educational institutions, thanks to the technical assistance provided by Romania”, Borosan added.
“We are motivated to learn from Romania’s experience in the sustainable energy sector, capitalize on renewable energy resources and urge companies in the Romanian private sector to make connections, bridges over the Prut and invest in the energy sector in our country,” added the Secretary of State for Energy of the Republic of Moldova.
