Bucharest Thermal Power Company Termoenergetica received on December 17 from its supplier, Tinmar Energy, a notice of disconnection of 48 plants from gas supply starting with December 23 and notification of termination of the supply contract from January 17, 2022, according to Profit.ro.

Termoenergetica, the operator of the central heating system in Bucharest, also distributes its own production thermal agent, generated in 48 natural gas plants, which supplies 950 blocks with 55,000 apartments, the Casa Presei Libere and a hospital. This is in addition to the thermal energy produced by ELCEN (over 95% of the need), Vest Energo and CET Grivița, with which most Bucharest residents connected to the centralized system are heating. The supplier Tinmar Energy indicated as a reason for disconnection and termination that Termoenergetica did not pay in full a gas consumption bill, more precisely the regularization bill related to the October consumption.

The municipal company claimed that it refused to pay part of the bill because the supplier increased its gas prices by almost 60%, accusing the latter of violating the clauses agreed by the contract. Termoenergetica sued Tinmar, asking the court to force the company to continue executing the contract between the two parties, under the conditions of the clauses provided by it, until its expiration on June 30, 2022.

The operator of the district heating system of the Capital obtained in the first instance a presidential ordinance by which Tinmar was obliged to continue without interruption the supply of gas to Termoenergetica, at the price initially established by contract, until the final settlement of the lawsuit, also writes Profit.ro.
