Mayor Allen Coliban announced on Friday that Brasov City Hall will buy the Brasov Heating Electricity Plant – CET Brasov, which is in bankruptcy proceedings. This week the sale-purchase agreement will be signed, committing the municipality to pay 13.5 million euros for the CET platform. It will be transformed into an industrial site to attract strategic investors.

Allen Coliban said that once the municipality takes possession of the CET Brasov platform, it will organise a tender procedure to sell the CET assets, which are expected to generate at least two million euros in revenue. Subsequently, discussions will be held with potential investors for the exploitation of the land, given that the platform is in the city’s urban area and is connected to the railway and the city’s ring road. The mayor has put forward the idea of a joint venture or sale of land to investors, with decisions to be taken by a vote of the city council.

“The Municipality of Brasov will take possession of 50 hectares of CET land. Here we plan to make a park for development, where we will bring investors from new industries with high added value, with whom we are already holding discussions,” the mayor wrote on his Facebook page.
