Municipalities can get free technical assistance to tackle energy poverty

Until March 1st, local governments and/or organisations working in strict collaboration with local governments can submit their request for technical assistance and receive support in the process of tackling energy poverty.  No financial support will not be provided. The selected proposals will benefit from up to 9 months of tailored support to develop their energy poverty actions. by experts and the Energy Poverty Advisory Hub (EPAH) team.

The Energy Poverty Advisory Hub (EPAH) is run by the European Commission at the request of the European Parliament, and consists of a collaborative network of stakeholders aiming to eradicate energy poverty and accelerate the just energy transition of local governments in Europe. Its mission is to be a centre of energy poverty expertise in Europe for local governments and all stakeholders interested in taking action to combat energy poverty in Europe. On its website, different resources are available to guide stakeholders in implementing concrete actions and tackling energy poverty in their local context.

For Romania, the current call for technical assistance is managed by the Ashoka team. An introductory webinar was organized on February 10th, available here: “Authorities, companies, NGOs: how can we get involved in fighting energy poverty?”
