The National Authority for Consumer Protection has fined by 6.720 million lei a number of 608 economic operators in the fuel distribution sector for incorrect commercial practices, said Paul Anghel, general manager within the institution.
“We cannot go into the pricing policy of the economic operator. Instead, if we check the batches of products in a correct producer-consumer relationship and here I am referring to the fuel consumers and the distributor, it bought the fuel at a certain price and distributed it at that time by increasing unjustifiably the price and through an incorrect commercial practice,” Anghel said, according to Agerpres.
He explained that the price of fuel is related to a barrel of oil and a stock price, and the final price should be proportional to these quotations.
“When the price of gas stations is related to the barrel of oil, at the international price, when the barrel fell, the price of gasoline and diesel did not fall. In this case, these increases can be considered an incorrect commercial practice,” added Anghel.
