Against the backdrop of the reduction in gas supplies from Gazprom, ENGIE makes certain clarifications, including regarding the supply of natural gas from Romania. Thus, company officials claim, in a message addressed to the press, that there is enough gas for local customers.
“Today, Gazprom informed the ENGIE Group about the reduction of gas supplies, caused by a disagreement regarding the application of some contractual clauses.
“Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, deliveries of gas from Russia to the ENGIE Group have decreased substantially. As previously announced, the ENGIE Group has already secured the necessary volumes to meet the commitments for the supply of the customer portfolio and has adopted the necessary measures to significantly reduce any direct impact that could be generated by an interruption of gas supplies by Gazprom,” say ENGIE officials.
“As for the local subsidiary, ENGIE Romania, it has secured the volumes needed by customers from its portfolio and is making every effort to ensure continuity in their supply, even in this difficult market context, with extremely high purchase prices and volatile.”
